The Philosophy of Childbirth

I scream, I groan

I curse, I moan

It’s not easy no doubt

But when it slips out

I smile with warmth engulfing my whole body

This is what it must feel like, to howl

The work of nature is big, brown and sturdy

It stares back at me from the toilet bowl

I’m a philosopher

And I just gave birth to shit.
